Cord Blook Nazis?
I had my baby 7 months ago. My hubby and I were sharing our memories when one horrible one popped up. Did you have cord blood harassment? My hospital gaves us like a 30 page document to read and sign if we wanted to donate cord blood. First, who the heck wants to read 30 pages when you are in pain?!?! I, personally, don't sign anything unless I read everything. Anyway, I declined because I could only read about 4 pages before the friggin pains intensified. Well, once we declined, we got harassed. Every nurse that came in kept telling us the benefit, etc. Also, once I declined, the once very nice nurse turned into an apathetic one. Anyone else experience this?

- Ewww, no - But after my c-section (with my daughter), the nurses kept harassing me to formula feed and to let her sleep in the nursery. I didn't do either, thankfully, but very well could of out of desperation and exhaustion.
- No, they never mentioned cord blood, but that's awful. I was mad about being harassed by my hospital's baby photography company after my c-section. Isn't it bad enough that we have to wake up ever few hours through the night? They should leave people alone. I couldn't wait to get home, so I could rest.
- Don't be traumatized by this your memories should be happy ones of having your child. If the Dr or nurses wanted you to do this then they should make sure that you have the info months before delivery, no one can expect you to read or understand anything when you are in labor, probably would have had hard time remembering your own name much less reading some legal document, so please chalk it up to inefficient work on Dr and Nurses part for not getting you this info much sooner.
- The baby needs its own blood. The cord should never be cut until it has stopped pulsating on its own.
- They didnt harrass me as I was having my twins, but when I was pregnant I swear stuff about cord blood was everywere. A person has to be nuts to spend that much money on something they will probably never need. Better to spend money on life insurance or something like that.
- No, there was no mention of cord blood banking at our hospital.
