Is it possible to make an identical twin of my baby from her umbilical cord blood stem cells?
I would never want to do this, but I'm wondering if it is possible.

- theoretically yes
- Isnt that how they clone?
- Well, not an identical twin, but an identical clone, yes. The umbilical cord contains stem cells, which are what are most commonly used for the cloning process.
- which is why people will keep their babies stem cells in the future...so that they can be used to create a new kidney or a new heart... pick ur part no more rejections for transplants...
- technically, yes. You would need lots of money though. Specifically more money than all the scientists in North Korea :P
- The next baby would be a clone.
- Scientist do not have the ability to clone people, nor can they generate fully functional organs from stem cells. This may be a possiblity in the future but it's unlikely to happen in our lifetime.
